Hello friends & family :)

We have rented Camp Namanu in Sandy, Oregon for our wedding this year.

The ceremony will be held onsite on Saturday, October 10, 2026, and you’re invited to stay in the camp lodges from Fri Oct 9 – Sun Oct 11 if you’d like to spend the weekend with us.

There will be singing, dancing and merriment throughout the weekend :)

Are kids invited?

Yes 👶 but please, only your own! Taking kids from the local park is frowned upon.

We're planning lots of fun activities for the kiddos and we'd like to offer childcare during the reception so if you have really little ones they can be taken care of somewhere quiet or watched over while they sleep.

Are there mobility accommodations available?

Golf carts are available to support mobility where needed — please let us know if you’d like to request one, so we can make sure we have all needs covered!

What should we wear?

We’ll be in formalwear for the Saturday ceremony and reception, but the ceremony will be either outdoors, or in an open-air building, so please dress for autumn temperatures, and possible rain!

We also recommend wearing shoes you can walk in some dirt with — if the weather is nice enough for the outdoor ceremony spot, there will be a 2–5 minute uphill trail walk.

Aside from Saturday, the rest of the weekend will be casual attire!

What's the weather going to be like?

Early October is one of the loveliest times of year in Oregon, but it's also the turning point from summer to the rainy season, so plan for a bit of everything. Portland averages afternoons in the mid 60s °F around October 10, and Sandy sits a little higher in the Cascade foothills, so Camp Namanu usually runs a few degrees cooler: days in the low-to-mid 60s, and once the sun drops behind the trees, nights down into the low 40s. Expect a real chill after dark and crisp, dewy mornings.

Rain is a genuine possibility. Roughly one day in three sees some rain by mid-October, more often a soft drizzle than a downpour, and some years the weekend is sunny and warm instead. We'll have covered spaces either way, but a packable rain jacket or umbrella is worth the suitcase room.

The Pacific Northwest answer to all of this is layers: a base you're comfortable in when the afternoon sun is out, a sweater or fleece for when it isn't, and a warm coat or wrap for the evening. Locals peel them off and pile them back on all day, and nobody will blink at a puffy jacket over a nice outfit. Warm socks and a beanie for the campfire are a good call too.

Can I bring my pet?

If they’re chill.

Do the cabins have heat and electricity?

Yes, many of them do. Some are open-air and no electricity, but we should have enough heated cabins for everyone who wants one.

Can I pitch a tent? Can I bring a trailer/RV?

Yes!

Do the cabins have private rooms?

No, they are 6-12 bunks to a room, with a few exceptions we're reserving for people who need it most. If you prefer a space on your own, we've got a group discount for rooms at the Best Western Sandy Inn (booking link coming soon!), and there are places available on Airbnb and Vrbo in nearby towns as well.

Is there wifi? Cell service?

There is wifi, and some spotty cell service.

Will there be transportation from the Portland airport?

Do you want there to be? We're happy to offer shuttles to Namanu if people want to use them. Let us know how many seats on a shuttle you'd use if we book one, and if we get enough people we'll let you know it's booked!

Is there a hotel group rate?

Will there be a livestream?

Is there a gift registry?

We consider your presence with us a huge gift, especially considering the travel many of you will do! We don't need or expect any additional gifts. Due to popular demand, however, we're working on a registry for those who enjoy expressing themselves in this way. Stay tuned.
